A Heartfelt Update from Dr. Mat Lingmann (November 21, 2025)

Dear Valued Patient,

For more than 35 years this clinic has been so much more than a business — it has truly been family.

It all began with Kent Davenport on conservative talk radio and his unforgettable line: “Folks, when your ears start playing tricks on you, don’t wait for the punchline — come to Quality Hearing Aids. We’ll fix you up right, no hype, no hassle, just hearing like it oughta be. This message approved by me, Kent Davenport.”

That trust grew stronger under Steve Romeo, and for the past 3½ years I have been deeply honored to serve as your Doctor of Audiology. Your stories, your kindness, and your loyalty have touched my heart in ways I will carry forever.

Some bittersweet — but ultimately hopeful — news

This summer my family and I relocated to southern Oregon so I could accept a position with the Department of Veterans Affairs — a necessary homecoming for our family’s health and well-being, and a return to the area where three of our four boys were born.

The exciting silver lining

After several months of working through details with Starkey, I am thrilled to tell you that Starkey has now fully released ownership back to us so that I can directly place Quality Hearing Aids and its wonderful patient family with a new owner. We are currently in active, promising conversations with several excellent local audiology clinics and providers who are very interested in taking over the practice and continuing the exact same level of compassionate, high-quality care you have always known — including honoring every existing warranty.

Our sincere hope and expectation is to have everything finalized and be able to welcome you back for appointments the first week of December (or sooner if things move even faster!).

The clinic is closed for the Thanksgiving holidays November 24–28, but we are working diligently behind the scenes and will update this page (and send an email/voicemail blast) the moment the new provider is confirmed.
